The sprouting addictions of the mister and misses.

Last week, Curt and I heading over to my parents for Sunday dinner. We love it so much, seeing everyone. Laughing, eating, joking, playing games. The game of the day was Electronic Monopoly, where you use credit cards instead of monies. I like it TONS better. Just swipe the card and millions of dollars disappear without having to count a cent. How great is that? Well, Curt whooped everyone at the game. His banker and economic skills took charge and soon his bank account had over 17,000,000 dollars in it. (He wouldn't share a penny with me! Next time, I'm making a joint account.) Well, ever since then, he has been playing monopoly non-stop. At work, he uses one of his dual screens for transactions and business stuff and the other is dedicated solely to the game of monopoly. He even carries around his iPod touch, playing the game when he isn't at the computer. Can you say addiction to me? I definitely can.

I have been running low on foundation for a while. Every time I go to the grocery store I spend about ten minutes trying to figure out what shade I am. I never know! Am I nude? Or maybe ivory? Maybe natural buff? They all look so similar, but when you put it on it looks horrible! Bleh. So that has been my reoccurring issue for a while. Well, yesterday Curt and I were casually shopping at the mall. Curt is in desperate need of new socks and was completely transfixed by the many assortments in Macy's. I decided to take a stroll around the store and then I saw it. I was drawn to it like a magnet. It was calling me name, with it's comforting greens and sleek products. Clinique. The "best of the best", which also means the "most expensive of the expensives". Never have I even considered using their products, mainly because the price scares me away. But this time, I was just curious. And you know what they say, Curiosity killed the cat. Well I was the cat, and I just wanted to try a few of their products, see what the professionals say. And from there, the snatched me. The Clinique Specialist tried several different shades to find the perfect one. And when she found it, how could I say no?? I sheepishly asked the mister what he thought and if her approved. And after much thought, we decided that if would be a good decision. So today was the first day I wore the Clinique foundation, and I think I am addicted already. AHHHH. I have succumbed to their powers. But I must admit that Curt has been telling me an unusual amount today how beautiful I looked today. I attribute this to the foundation and the secret ingredients they use. After the first day of wearing it, I must admit that I am impressed and like it a lot a lot.

That is all for today.

My nights w/o the Mister

So I just got home from couples volleyball,
without my husband.
It definitely was not the same without Curt Dawg.
I need him there.
Actually,
I need him with me right now!
Gosh,
I hate being home alone.
I get all anxious and suspicious that a creeper is lurking in my shower.
Every noise I hear makes me jump a little.
And when I get over the antsy phase,
I go into a sad, eat-all-the-ice-cream-in-the-house phase.
I seriously cannot put down the Mint Chip ice cream.
It just tastes so good when your missing Curt so badly.
I need to find something much more healthy to soothe my achy heart,
like raisins or broccoli.
Anyways,
now I am sitting here,
at his computer,
wearing his Where The Wild Things Are t-shirt that I love,
not knowing what to do with myself.
The only thing I can think of is to go to bed,
the worst part when he's gone.
You sit in your queen size bed,
knowing that he should be right next to you,
cuddling with you,
talking about the day,
maybe even having a pillow fight or tickle fight.
But he's not there. It's just a big empty space.
Instead,
the mister is outside,
sprawled out on our orange sleeping bag,
listening to the insects buzzing in the night.
So I guess,
if you compare our two situations,
I definitely lucked out.
At least I am comfortable and cool.
But I would trade all of that to be with him now.
I love you Curt.

Who would've thunk.

So starting school was kind of a frenzy for us. It came so fast, we weren't ready. I still don't know if we are ready. But a few things turned out great.
  • Curt had to do some rearranging with his schedule, and jumped into my Stat 301 class!
  • I did some rearranging with my schedule and jumped into Curt's Astronomy 263 class!
  • On Mondays, we have two lecture together and one lab!!
I can't get over this. I would have never thought we would be able to take some classes together, but here we are! Study Buddies for life. I love it.

I am a little worried though.
When I informed Lynn of our new class schedules, she told me that when her and Craig had a class together they were a little distracted.
I'll probably be a little distracted staring at the back of Curt's head every once and a while, but hopefully that will encourage me to study harder and do better.
And plus,
our Astronomy lab consists of going out in corn fields and looking at the stars.
Sounds kind of romantic to me.
We were thinking of bringing a little blanket and a basket of goodies.
I hope our TA doesn't mind.

A little synopsis of our Anniversary.

Here's a little overview of our anniversary weekend.
We left early Friday morning with the intention to visit the Art Institute in downtown Chigago. But we totally forgot that Lalapallooza was going on during that weekend as well. All the streets going anywhere near Lala was blocked off. We had to change our plans a little bit and spent the day at the Navy Pier. That was awesome. We did pretty much everything you could do there.
When we first arrived, there was a big even going on for HPs new headphones-Beats. There was a DJ and a dance floor, a booth to to recieve free t-shirts, and a booth to get your photo taken. So Curt and I hit up the photo booth and then got on the dance floor. It was awesome and the DJ was throwing some good stuff out there. It was like they were waiting for us, celebrating our anniversary!
After that we ate some delicious Chicago Dogs,
You can't go to Chicago without getting a Chicago Dog.
After that we went for to the Chinese Circus. That was so crazy! They could do some crazy things with their bodies.
We then went on a boat tour of Chicago and saw all of the buildings. That was pretty sweet. (Pictures below)
We then went on the super tall Ferris Wheel, which lasted six minutes. We went right when the sun was setting, it was gorgeous.
After our day at Navy Pier,
we headed to Bravo Italiano Restuarant, where we ate after our wedding. That was delicious! Curt had this creamy red sauce with sausage and noodles. I had Tilapia with crab and veggies.
At about 10:00 pm , we headed back to the hotel that we stayed at on the night of our Wedding.
On Saturday we spent the day at the temple,
and that was probably the most special part.
We were able to remeber the day we were married and renew our covenants with our Heavenly Father.
That is what is most important.
And we couldn't have gone on a more beauitful day.
It was a great start to year #2.
