Check it.

I am quite fond of this picture.

We have some friends.
They are great, and we love them.
One of them, Brooke, is so cute and artsy.
I love her.
The other friend, her husband, is a great great musician.
How can one couple be so blessed, I don't quite understand.
Anyways, they recently made a commercial for Folgers coffee.
Being Mormons, they obviously don't support coffee,
but they do support
the $25,000 grand prize portion of the contest!
Anyways again,
this is their wonderful creation,
that I love:

This is how we live.

Large and overflowing.
Can you think of one thing better than this bowl right here?
Marriage-eh eh. (no)
Warm bubbly bath? Not quite.
A massage-maybe.
I guess what I am trying to say is.
We know how to pour a bowl of cereal right.

Just try not to stare...

I know it's difficult.

The ups and the downs.

This week has been a little crazy.
It started great with Valentine's,
but then dropped quickly to bad.
I discovered, my fifth week into the semester,
that I HAVE BEEN ATTENDING THE WRONG ENGLISH CLASS.
Are you kidding me! I still can't believe it.
This is what happened.
The class I registered for is in HEAV 128.
I have been in the classroom right across the hallway,
HEAV 129.
The funny thing is,
in the class I have been going to,
He has everyone write their name on a list for attendance.
He never once called out attendance.
Because of this, I never thought twice about it.
I have turned in two papers,
He never said anything.
I am definitely not blaming him.
I should have known,
I just find it ironic how those two things worked together.
I an hoping that when I am old,
and have little Curts and Vanessas running around,
I can tell this story and laugh.
I also hope that when I tell this story,
It will have a good ending.
So that was my stressful, sad, crazy part of the week.
Now my very exciting, happy part.
One:
I applied for an internship early January.
I gave up hope when I didn't hear from them early Febraury.
BUT, after I mourned and was a little (a lot) depressed,
They called!
They offered the job!
I am still in shock.
I will be designing mortar boards
or commonly known as
school datebooks for many many schools.
I am so excited.
The people seem great,
the atmosphere is wonderful,
and they have CRAFT parties.
It is perfect.
Two:
My swimsuit was delivered.
I am getting more and more excited about FLORIDA.
almost obsessed.
but this is my Jantzen suit.

Definitely a reason to celebrate.

Valentine's period (this is a long one).

Curt is good at surprises.
He does the unexpected.
This is another reason I love him.
Anyways.
Friday, at work, I received a package.
I was slightly confused.
What could this be?
There was a dozen red tulips
with my name on it.
It was from none other than my one and only,
Curty Curt.
Definitely caught me off guard.

Those made up for his camping trip Friday night.
Saturday was a spledid day as well.
I worked from 7-12 while
Curt went to an art gallery in Crawfordsville
with his little boy scouts.
Adorable.
My brother and I enjoyed a delicious 5 dollar footlong.
Holler.
I am addicted right now.
Upon arriving home,
Curt and I took a quick nappy.
We have come to heavily rely on our naps.
We then cleaned here and there.
Then we looked through our wonderful Oprah Cookbook,
figuring out what we want to make for the official Valentine's Day.
Everything looks so good.
Then we went to Nine Irish Bros.
Gotta love them.
We had the Valentine's deal,
ribeye, shrimp, asparagus, and taters,
all for 32 dollars.
 good deal.
And then Curt had another surprise up his sleeve.
"How bout we go ice skating. That sounds fun."-Curt
I guess we could do our grocery shopping after, I thought.
We headed to the ice rink on this wonderful evening.
And it just so happened that Curt had my scarf and my hat and some long sockies with him.
i was a little suspicious now.
We get our gear on and skate for a while when...
A bunch of our friends start showing up!
It was a surprise skate party!
I had a balloon and birthday hat.
I loved it.
It actually was a joint birthday party,
with Matt Olsen.
The decade party-
I am 20- he is going to be 30.
Whoop whoop.
We had blue angel food cake after.
Matt's fave.
And after the partay was over,
Curt and I finished the night off with Baby Mama.
Great movie, hilarious characters.

Can you believe this weekend so far?? It's not even over, let alone Valentine's Day yet.

Sunday was great.
Curt and I made delicious pancakes on our griddle.
We then made little heart shaped sugar cookies,
which we gave away to our Beehives and Deacons.
and then we had a Valentine's Bash at the Isenbarger casa.
Everyone we loved was there,
Lynn, Craig, Pooma, Grandma, James, Curt and I.
We had Hawaiian punch, stuffed pork, salad, taters, and peas.
SO good.
We love our family dinners.
We love our family.

After we went over to one of our BFFs
and played with their adorable gray kitten.
I want one.

And now, It is officially Valentine's Day.
What will happen next?
I don't know if you can top a weekend like this.

We decided to make another Oprah creation:
Moroccan Chickies over Couscous
 with sauteed garlic orange spinach.

sliced garlic and diced mint. powerful stuff right here.

fresh spinach for our "garlic orange spinach"

our delicious chicken thighs, seasoned with cumin, salt, and pep

finished result. <3

February Festivities Filled (w) Fun.

This is Carli, my adorable sister.
February is quite the month.
Tons of action going on here.
Firstly, and most importantly,
My day of birth was celebrated
(and ground hogs day).
(Love you Phil.)
This was a big one.
I left my teen years behind me.
Weird.
Sometimes I feel like I'm still stuck in 18.
But I'm not, I am now TWENTY.
Two. Zero.
This year was kinda of odd,
This is Me, Logan, and Carli when we first moved here.
Lafayette was hit with a freak snow storm.
I think it was a total of 8 inches.
Decent amount,
Enough to cancel school!
For TWO WHOLE DAYS.
Happy Birthday Me!

This is what we did during the snow storm:
Carli slept over!
That was lots of fun. I love her oh so much.
We ventured out in the icy snow
to our nearest Family Pantry.
We then cuddled and watched Robin Hood.
Then we fell asleep,
Carli on our couch, Curt and I in our bed.
Carli didn't want to snuggle with us. :(
But we woke up to my BIRTHDAY.
I am reliving it all right now, and I love it.
About to go sledding.

Our cars are stuck.
Can't go anywhere.
What's the first thing we do?
SLEDDING.
with our dear friends.
The problem was we had no sleds,
neither did any department store in the entire Lafayette county.
Doesn't make sense.
They could've made lots of money from us.
Eventually this woman,
Debbie,
from good ol' General Dollar gives us beach tubes
FO FREE.
THANK YOU DEBBIE.
unfortunately beach tubes don't last too long on frozen snow.
We still appreciated the gesture.
So sledding was kind of a fail.
But the day is not over yet.
We then have a Lord of the Rings Marathon!
Super great.
we still need to watch the third one actually.
AND THEN,
Curt and I went to the OB.
we both are big big fans.
After our tummies were very full,
we opened gifts! yesss
Curt surprised me with artsy things,
an eisel and canvas,
and cooking pans!
and this cute bird door hanger.
I absolutely love it.
Curt, you are the best.

So that was my birthday.
But just wait...
We actually celebrated it TWO more times.
One with Curt's fam and yesterday we celebrated it with mine!
It just never ends.
I LOVE have family so close.

Then we had Winter Fest 2011. Whoop Whoop.
PEFCU knows how to party.
We ate some good food and danced the night away.
We looked cute too.

And we can't forget Volleyball Night. No siree.
We heart Volleyball.
Especially when our lovely new bff's come.
They make everything more fun.

I just hope February never ends.

Just Kidding.
March you are going to be super fun too.
Jacksonville, we can't wait!

Love Month.

Our love wall.
 Reason #1

I was thinking today, Valentine's is just around the corner. Then an idea sprung in my head. And when ideas form, they take root and grow exponentially. This idea was a simple idea, one with a specific purpose: tell Curt "I love you". I want to fill all the hearts on the love wall with reasons I love him. That's what Valentine's Day is about, right?

I wish Valentine's Day was everyday.

Original Art Gallery.

 Friday, January 28, 2011

We finally set a date, for a date. It's kind of difficult to put a night aside as a date night. Because one, when you are married your life is ALWAYS a date. Two, we don't have many nights to spare. Most are filled with volleyball, homework, basketball, church, work, or studying. That doesn't leave much time for us. So, we decided to just do it-forget about everything else. I was in charge. I love being in charge.

This was the plan.

First make dinner. What is more romantic that Beef Fry Ri'. It was almost as good as Rice Cafe. Almost. We sliced up the meat, seasoned it appropriately, cooked it in our wok quickly, and fried up some rice and veggies. My stomach was so happy.

Next. We received a lovely frame, which can hold up to seven pictures, for our wedding. My goal was to fill this frame with pieces of our artwork. We had three categories: Portraits of each other, wildlife, and music. I made a time limit of 15-20 minutes. We could use anything from pencil to charcoal, paint to chalk to magazines. We definitely got creative.
Our first Isenbarger Exhibit.
